🔋 Deep Cycle AGM vs. Regular AGM: Why It Matters

Deep cycle AGM batteries are designed for repeated, sustained energy delivery—making them ideal for mobility devices, solar systems, RVs, marine use, and electric vehicles.

Feature Deep Cycle AGM Regular AGM
Designed For Frequent deep discharges (50–80%) Short-term backup or starting
Plate Thickness Thicker plates for durability Thinner plates
Cycle Life Higher (hundreds to thousands of cycles) Lower
Energy Delivery Stable over long periods Short bursts of high current
Best For Mobility, solar, marine, RVs UPS, vehicle starting

In summary: If your application requires consistent power through frequent charge/discharge cycles, a deep cycle AGM battery is the smarter, longer-lasting investment.

Just a Quick Reminder!

Please double-check that the batteries you're ordering match the ones in your unit before completing your purchase. We want to make sure you get exactly what you need!

🔋 What’s mAh All About?

mAh stands for milliamp hours—basically, how much "fuel" your battery can hold. A higher or lower mAh than your original battery? No worries! 🙌 It won’t affect charging or operation—just means your device might run a bit longer or shorter between charges. Still 100% compatible. Still 100% awesome. 💪✨

Ensure the original battery model number is mentioned in our product description and verify that your device model number is also listed in the description.

How to Look after your new lithium battery!!

Important Information on Cameron Sino Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Batteries

Provided by Canadianbatteries.com

Rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries from Cameron Sino Technologies have a limited lifespan and will gradually lose their ability to hold a charge. This natural process, known as aging, is irreversible. As the battery ages, its runtime—the amount of time it can power a device—will steadily decrease.

These batteries also self-discharge slowly when not in use or while in storage. To maintain performance, check the battery’s charge level regularly. Your device’s user manual should provide instructions for checking battery status and charging procedures. For the latest manuals, visit your product manufacturer’s website.

Important: Always use batteries recommended by Canadianbatteries.com for safe and reliable performance.

Battery Maintenance Guidelines

  • Record the runtime of a new, fully charged battery for future comparison.
  • Regularly check the charge level of your battery.
  • Monitor batteries nearing the end of their useful life.
  • Replace the battery if:
    • The runtime drops below 80% of the original runtime.
    • The battery takes significantly longer to charge.
  • If storing for a long time, follow the storage instructions below. Do not use or recharge a battery that has become fully discharged during storage—replace it instead.

Charging Instructions

Follow the product-specific charging guidelines in your user manual. For dual battery setups, test one battery and slot at a time—one defective battery may prevent the other from charging.

Storage Tips

  • If your battery is brand new, fully charge it as soon as you receive it. Due to transport regulations, it will only be charged to a maximum of 20% on arrival.
  • A battery left unused for extended periods may lose the ability to accept a charge, which will void the warranty as it is considered neglect.
  • Charge or discharge the battery to about 50% before storing.
  • Recharge the battery to 50% at least once every three to four months.
  • Store the battery separately from the device.
  • Ideal storage temperature: 5°C to 20°C (41°F to 68°F).

Note: Batteries self-discharge in storage. High temperatures (above 20°C/68°F) can reduce battery life.

Handling Precautions

  • Do not disassemble, crush, or puncture the battery.
  • Do not short circuit the terminals.
  • Never dispose of batteries in fire or water.
  • Do not expose batteries to temperatures over 60°C (140°F).
  • Keep batteries away from children.
  • Avoid shock, impact, or vibration.
  • Do not use damaged batteries.
  • If fluids are leaking, do not touch them. Follow safe disposal instructions.
  • In case of eye contact with fluid, flush eyes with water for 15 minutes and seek medical help.

Transportation

  • Follow local, national, and international rules when transporting Lithium-Ion batteries.
  • Transport of damaged or recalled batteries may be restricted or prohibited.

Disposal and Recycling

  • Dispose of Lithium-Ion batteries according to your local laws and recycling regulations.
  • In the U.S. and Canada, visit www.rbrc.org for recycling information.
  • Do not discard batteries in household trash.
  • Place only discharged batteries in battery collection containers.
  • Cover terminals with tape to prevent short circuits during storage or transport.

Care information

Some Useful Battery Information
Please read this before using your new battery!

Cordless phone batteries, Cell phones, PDAs, Power Tool Batteries, and all devices with the chemistries below

These types of batteries can be NIMH, NiCad, or Lithium Ion all these three chemistries have similar properties when looking after them.
Initial charge- all three types of batteries should be fully charged overnight on receipt.

Charges 2-6- it is very important to fully charge the battery on receipt and then use the battery until the device says low battery. There is no need to force a discharge just use the device as normal until the battery runs down to about 20% of its charge. The important thing about these 2-6 conditioning cycles is that you do not top up the battery until it reaches about 20% of its charge. Do not let the battery run flat, especially on the first 3-4 cycles.

After conditioning- the best course of action to lengthen the life of these types of batteries is to only replace the device on the charger when the device needs charging. All three chemistries of batteries can be cycled around 500 times if the device was placed on the charger once every day after one use the battery would last approx 500 days if placed on the charger twice a day after use the battery would last approx 250 days. A battery does not half cycle so even if the battery was 80% charged a full cycle will be used when it is placed on charge.

SLA Batteries
This type of chemistry does not need conditioning the battery can be cycled around 300-400 times, although the battery is best used heavily at the top end of its charge. This battery should be topped up and not used till flat.
The average life of an SLA battery is 2-3 years depending on use and care.

Laptop Batteries
Most laptop batteries today use Lithium Ion Technology. The recommended care is slightly different from that above.
Initial charge- The battery should be fully charged overnight on receipt.

Charges 2-6- it is very important to fully charge the battery and then use the battery until the device is discharged to only about 20% of its charge. Do not let the battery drain down completely or the charging circuit in the laptop may not detect a good battery. This is especially important in the first 5 cycles. There is no need to force a discharge just use the device as normal until the battery runs down. The important thing about these 2-6 conditioning cycles is that you do not top up the battery until it reaches 20% of its charge.

After conditioning- the best course of action to lengthen the life of these types of batteries is more difficult to ascertain the main problem is that if you are constantly plugging in and out of the mains adaptor the battery life will be reduced significantly. .The best thing to do is to make sure that you fully cycle the battery and let it run low at least once a month. Lithium batteries need to be exercised to maintain their usability.
