Presenting the Saft LS14250CNR, a highly efficient half AA-size battery cell, meticulously crafted for the seamless creation of battery packs. This 3.6 V primary lithium-thionyl chloride (Li-SOCl2) cell is globally acclaimed for its superior energy density and myriad benefits, making it ideal for a wide range of applications.

One of the key features of the LS14250CNR is its unwavering high voltage response throughout the majority of its lifespan. Equipped with an impressive operating temperature range from -60°C to 85°C, it can adapt to varied environmental conditions. Its low self-discharge rate of less than 1% per year at 20°C ensures its dependability even after prolonged storage periods.

The LS14250CNR, being compact and easy to incorporate into various systems, boasts superior resistance to atmospheric corrosion due to its stainless steel container and end caps. It adheres to the IEC 60086-4 safety standard and IEC 60079-11 intrinsic safety standard (class T4 assignment), guaranteeing its safe usage across different applications. Furthermore, it is recognized by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and is non-restricted for transport/non-assigned to Class 9 as per the UN Recommendations on the transport of dangerous goods – Model Regulations.

Manufactured in France, the UK, and China, the LS14250CNR is perfect for use in utility metering, automatic meter reading, alarms and security devices, tollgate systems, memory back-up, computer real-time clocks, tracking systems, automotive electronics, and professional electronics.

With a nominal capacity of 1.20 Ah (at 1 mA 20°C 2.0 V cut-off), an open circuit voltage of 3.67 V (at 20°C), and a nominal voltage of 3.6 V (at 0.1 mA 20°C), the LS14250CNR exhibits exceptional electrical characteristics. It has a nominal energy of 4.32 Wh and a pulse capability of up to 100 mA. It can handle a maximum recommended continuous current of 35 mA, with the possibility of higher currents upon consulting with Saft.

The LS14250CNR, with dimensions of 14.62 mm in diameter and 25.13 mm in height, and a weight of approximately 9g, is recommended to be stored at a maximum of 30°C (86°F) and functions efficiently at temperatures ranging from -60°C to 85°C (-76°F/ 185°F). For severe conditions, consultation with Saft is advised. With tabs welded on each end of the cell in opposite directions, the LS14250CNR is indeed the top choice for crafting dependable battery packs. Please bear in mind that soldering directly to the cell may result in fire, explosion, and burn hazards.

Care information

Some Useful Battery Information
Please read this before using your new battery!

Cordless phone batteries, Cell phones, PDAs, Power Tool Batteries, and all devices with the chemistries below

These types of batteries can be NIMH, NiCad, or Lithium Ion all these three chemistries have similar properties when looking after them.
Initial charge- all three types of batteries should be fully charged overnight on receipt.

Charges 2-6- it is very important to fully charge the battery and then use the battery until the device says low battery. There is no need to force a discharge just use the device as normal until the battery runs down to about 20% of its charge. The important thing about these 2-6 conditioning cycles is that you do not top up the battery until it reaches about 20% of its charge. Do not let the battery run flat, especially on the first 3-4 cycles.

After conditioning- the best course of action to lengthen the life of these types of batteries is to only replace the device on the charger when the device needs charging. All three chemistries of batteries can be cycled around 500 times if the device was placed on the charger once every day after one use the battery would last approx 500 days if placed on the charger twice a day after use the battery would last approx 250 days. A battery does not half cycle so even if the battery was 80% charged a full cycle will be used when it is placed on charge.

SLA Batteries
This type of chemistry does not need conditioning the battery can be cycled around 300-400 times, although the battery is best used heavily at the top end of its charge. This battery should be topped up and not used till flat.
The average life of an SLA battery is 2-3 years depending on use and care.

Laptop Batteries
Most laptop batteries today use Lithium Ion Technology. The recommended care is slightly different from that above.
Initial charge- The battery should be fully charged overnight on receipt.

Charges 2-6- it is very important to fully charge the battery and then use the battery until the device is discharged to only about 20% of its charge. Do not let the battery drain down completely or the charging circuit in the laptop may not detect a good battery. This is especially important in the first 5 cycles. There is no need to force a discharge just use the device as normal until the battery runs down. The important thing about these 2-6 conditioning cycles is that you do not top up the battery until it reaches 20% of its charge.

After conditioning- the best course of action to lengthen the life of these types of batteries is more difficult to ascertain the main problem is that if you are constantly plugging in and out of the mains adaptor the battery life will be reduced significantly. .The best thing to do is to make sure that you fully cycle the battery and let it run low at least once a month. Lithium batteries need to be exercised to maintain their usability.
